GA on hold[edit]

I have reviewed this article according to the GA criteria. The article looks good overall but needs a few things fixed before I'll pass it.

  1.  Done Add wikilinks or further explain: cupola (intro), National Register of Historic Places & limestone (Third courthouse), oak (Interior) (also fix the white pine link in that section).--Kranar drogin 03:42, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  2.  Done In the second courthouse section, move "A one-story brick building, the second Ogle County Courthouse was constructed for $3,000." before the prior sentence. Also make sure the inline citation at the end of the paragraph documents the $3,000, if not, add a new inline citation with a source. IvoShandor 04:33, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  3.  Done "Though the 1848 Ogle County Courthouse was soon found to be "inadequate in every respect it would be over 40 years before a new facility was built." Quotation marks appear before inadequate, but there is no end of the quotation. Once it is fixed, if it is a quote, add an inline citation.--Kranar drogin 03:59, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  4.  Done "Today, events no longer take regularly take place on the courthouse lawn but some festivals still occur at the location." Reword the beginning of this statement, maybe "Today, events no longer take place on the courthouse lawn but some festivals still occur at the location."--Kranar drogin 03:59, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  5.  Done In the Architecture section, remove the construction heading since there is only two sentences in it. Either add it to another section and possibly reword its heading or expand this section.
  6.  Done Watertable is supposed to be two words, and check the wikilink to verify if the term is used correctly according to the article.--Kranar drogin 03:32, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  7.  Done "It features, blocked openings with multiple arches, double round arches, Corinthian pilasters, and organic corner detailing." Remove the comma after features.--Kranar drogin 04:03, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  8.  Done "First floor ceilings are 15 feet high, with doors at height of 12 feet." Change to "...with doors at a height of 12 feet."--Kranar drogin 04:03, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  9.  Done "The second floor features the courtrooms, which, through the 1980s remodel, had the ceilings dropped to 10 feet." Instead of dropped, maybe use lowered.--Kranar drogin 04:18, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  10.  Done "The sites include, cannons, war memorials and a cast-iron fountain." Remove comma after include and put it after memorials.--Kranar drogin 04:18, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  11.  Done Again, for the Iron Mike section, either expand it or incorporate it into a new section and rename the section.
  12.  Done "The monument is adorned with plaques honoring Ogle County's war dead from the American Civil War, Mexican War, War of 1812 and World War I, the latter of which was added later." Change latter to last to be grammatically correct.--Kranar drogin 04:18, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article makes good use of images and its nice to see that they are all available at Commons. Fix the above items within seven days and I'll pass the article as a GA. When you're done or if you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Nehrams2020 02:49, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Expanded a bit, may want to check it out IvoShandor and make sure it is what the article needs.--Kranar drogin 04:24, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Two and a half open things left. I will check back in the morn and see if they were taken care of.--Kranar drogin 04:29, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA passed[edit]

Good job on fixing all of these so quickly. It think that the inline citation (#6) was typed incorrectly as it has no text down in the references section, make sure to fix it. Besides that, I have passed this article as a GA according to the GA criteria. Continue to improve the article, making sure all new information is properly cited. For anybody that may read this, please consider reviewing an article or two at GAC to help with the backlog. --Nehrams2020 07:37, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
