No merge this is wrong.The articles gives some wrong perconceptions that they don't apply to reality. MGFF/M weighted 24 Kg and Hispano 50 Kg. 0.50 M2 weighted 29 Kg. I wonder if Hurricane pilots could choose between 4 Hispanos or 8 MGFF's what they would have choosed...so it not as described in the articles and MGFF/M was not that crap. Belt was introduced into mass production because they went for the MG151/20 which was more capable but heavier too (even if only 42Kg and not 50) but the germans they needed more firepower to shoot down big allied bombers.
In any case , all the articles must be re-written.
