  • Grabbing this for a review. Will put my comments up by the end of the week by the latest if that is okay with you. Aoba47 (talk) 13:17, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comments from Aoba47
  • I would say “a song by” and removed the “performed” part of it. I would also remove the “taken” part and just saying “Goldfrapp from their seventh studio album”.
Done
  • The addition of “according to Goldfrapp herself” sounds a little awkward and shoe-horned in. I would also use Alison Goldfrapp’s full name here to avoid potential confusion since Goldfrapp is used so frequently and most commonly used to describe the band as a while.
Done
  • The fact that the song was released as a promotional single should be in the lead.
Done
  • For the “sinister” quote in the lead, you will need to either provide the citation or paraphrase.
Done
  • The “told” part of “Told in couplets” sounds a little odd to me as it implies more of a spoken-word kind of piece. I would revise this to better reflect the actual composition of the song, which I am assuming is sung or some variation. If the lyrics are actually just spoken, then this is fine as it stands.
Done
  • I do not believe that you need “Critically” at the beginning of the first paragraph of the lead’s second paragraph as it is somewhat redundant since you introduce the contemporary music critics in the same sentence.
Done
  • I do not believe you need the word “contemporary” in the same sentence as it applies a juxtaposition with a different type of critic or that the reviews are coming from an extended period after the song's release, which is not present in this article.
Done
  • Identify the name of “the parent album” in the first sentence of the background and release section and provide a link to the album page. The body of the article should be self-sufficent and not rely on the lead so you will need to introduce the album name and link in this part.
Done
  • Do you have any information on where the song was recorded? It is okay if this is not available, but I would imagine that it is in the album liner notes possibly.
  • I have the CD and it doesn't say anything about recording dates; it may be in the vinyl release but I don't know for sure and I don't own one. Carbrera (talk) 01:20, 24 May 2017 (UTC).[reply]
  • That makes sense. Just wanted to clarify that with you first. Aoba47 (talk) 01:57, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would revise the sentence on the comparison with Black Cherry and Supernature to make it clear to the reader that these are two of Goldfrapp’s previous albums/works as that is not made immediately clear in the text.
Done
  • I would combine the last “paragraph” of the critical reception section with the rest of the text. I know what you were trying to do, but I would discourage one-sentence paragraphs.
Done
  • You use the phrases “closing track” and “to close the album” in close proximity in the same section so I would add some variation there to avoid repetition.
Done
  • I would link Odyssey in the same section as it is quite clear that this is what is being referenced.

Great work as always. Once my comments are addressed, I will pass this. I keep meaning to listen to their new album so this was an interesting and fun read. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your day, and good luck with your future projects. Aoba47 (talk) 02:26, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Aoba47 – Thank you for the kind words. I believe I completed everything. As always, thank you. Regards, Carbrera (talk) 01:20, 24 May 2017 (UTC).[reply]
