Largest island?[edit]

This article says Nicollet Island is the largest island in the Mississippi, yet Arsenal Island is considerably larger. I'm only asking because the suspect sentence is cited to the Hage book. Were the authors of the book referring to Minnesota or the whole river? –Fredddie 04:28, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is the figure in the Rock Island Arsenal the size of the island or the arsenal? Hage and Hage does indeed say it is the largest in the Mississippi, but they also say it is the only inhabited island which apparently is not true either. Maybe there are some finer points, but it looks like the book is wrong. —innotata 17:21, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There's no part of the arsenal that isn't on the island. There's a golf course on Arsenal Island as well, but I'm not sure if that's considered part of the arsenal or not. –Fredddie 17:51, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose you're probably right then, and we should just remove the bit. —innotata 21:07, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done that. —innotata 00:53, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
