Untitled[edit]

Being from Michigan and remembering her performances back in the 1990s, I was surprised to learn that her legal case may have set precendent in state law. Please note that the cited "legal opinion" is not an "opinion" in the sense we might ordinarily describe it here on Wikipedia. For instance, the FTC regularly provides "opinions" on credit and consumer law - their understanding of the intent and scope of a particular legal case. It's not the same as what Joe or Jane Schmo might say about a consumer law - it could be used to back up later legal proceedings, cases or law. The opinion also encapsulates several sources showing where her case was entered into the state legal record. Noirdame 08:51, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Being from Providence, our Mayor is being released from home confinement, so if Nicole remembers him and when did she know it...lolol

1995 mini-bar incident[edit]

I did not add this, because I do not remember the details, and at present I don't have access to reliable news accounts. Also I am not sure that it is important enough to add. But I thought I would put a note here in case someone (or me) wants to pursue it further in the future. Here are links to archived newspaper articles discussing the incident: In Britain, Bobek Is as Cool as Ice; Top U.S. Female Skater Deflects Tabloids About Off-Ice Troubles Book on figure skating reveals plenty. —Mark Dominus (talk) 13:46, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trimmed lede paragraph[edit]

I trimmed the lede paragraph to bring into prominence the most important fact about Bobek, that she was a U.S. national figure skating champion. Previously, that was so buried that a reader unfamiliar with figure skating might have missed it.

I ha dplanned to restore the other material that I deleted, but all of it still appears elsewhere in the article.
