Rental cost[edit]

There is an inconsitency in this article between the first para (which suggests it is US$30,000 to US$40,000) and the subsequent paragraph which suggests that it is approximately US$20,000. I can't claim to have stayed their myself. Does anyone have any hard data supporting either figure? Legis 10:09, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Advert in today's FT says it is US$46,000 per night, so I have put that figure in. --Legis (talk - contributions) 08:51, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doing a google search on 2007-06-27 I was presented with the following ad:

Necker Island www.virginexperiencedays.co.uk Stay at Necker Island for 7 nights from only £11,995 for 2 people.

That's about $24,000 for 7 days for 2, which would equate to only $1700 per night per person.

Presumably there are a range of "room" prices, the $46k (USD) could be the whole island for a night? Pbhj (talk) 01:29, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Famous guests[edit]

Who the heck is Steve Charles that he is listed as a "famous guest" at Necker? --Legis (talk - contributions) 08:29, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article name[edit]

Please see the discussion at Talk:Necker Island#Branson's Necker is more famous, and larger - where it is proposed that this article takes the name "Necker Island". EuroSong talk 20:31, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Virgin Time Travel?[edit]

Article states, "Branson first became aware that some of the islands in the British Virgin Islands were for sale in 1979. In 1978 he went to the British Virgin Islands for a holiday in order to investigate the prospective real estate." Clearly impossible, without time travel, and not even Virgin offer that (yet). Proposal to unflip the display of units.[edit]

I have added some information from Google maps and also from the Canadian Globe and Mail, flipping the display to preserve the present display of units {miles (km) and acres (hectares)}. I propose removing the flips so the display puts the km and hectares first. Are there any comments or concerns about this proposal? Michael Glass (talk) 05:07, 22 January 2017 (UTC) Flipping removed as per proposal. Michael Glass (talk) 01:24, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Island Location[edit]

I hope this is the right place to post this, apologies otherwise. The text: "Necker Island is located at latitude 18.55 north and longitude 64.35 west in the eastern section of the British Virgin Islands." lists coordinates that are many miles away from those listed above the photo in the top right corner, which I believe are the more accurate ones. I noticed the discrepancy while using Google Earth to find the island, gave up, and searched for Necker Island and found it.
