This text was obviously too large for the small description box in the table, but should be considered for and article on the Earle Town House

The Earle Towne House is believed to have been built by 1810. They believe this because of a recorded 100th anniversary celebration of the house in 1910. This house was originally a plantation home owned by Elias T. Earle. The Earle family moved to South Carolina from Virginia after the Revolutionary War. Mr. Earle harvested cotton and silk on his plantation. When this house was built, South Carolina was flourishing with cotton plantations. He was also a South Carolina state senator and a U.S. Congressman. During the War of 1812, Elias T. Earle manufactured guns at his home to support the war effort. This effort helped support camps in Mount Pleasant and throughout the Low Country. Another notable man that lived in the Earle Towne House was Joseph Haynsworth Earle. He was also a state senator and a renowned judge in Greenville. He is the one who filed the application to have the home put on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the Earle Towne House is still a family home. Members of the Earle family currently live there.
