Campagna, Campana, or just Trundy?[edit]

Hi

This has been problematic before, but it does need adressing now we have had the discussions elsewhere about those edits.

Is her name Trundy Campana, Trundy Campagna, or does it even matter?

So far, we have two sources in the article, bith with one vote for each option:
Trundy Campana from the "Official Natalie Trundy site"
Trundy Capagna from The Eagle "Natalies mother is Irish, her father Italian. She was born Natalie Trundy Campagna.
No idea what this is, but it seems unreliable sourcing as I suspect it is a user-created content site (login at top right)
The others do not mention her other name, they simply mention her as "Natalie Trundy".
Only ever mentions of "Natalie Trundy" from Chicago Trib.

I am reluctant to remove the name, but with no reliable sourcing - apart from two conflicting spellings.

I feel we should either leave out the Campana/Campagna and stick with "Natalie Trundy", or include both as "Natalie Trundy, born Natlie Trundy (Campana/Campagna)". Chaosdruid (talk) 16:32, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I know a lot of firsthand information about Natalie Trundy. She was born Natalie Campana and has a younger sister named Beverly. I don't know how the spelling of her maiden name was changed from "Campana" to "Campagna", but somebody goofed big time. The name "Trundy" is neither her maiden name nor her married name. "Trundy" is the maiden name of Natalie Campana's mother. When she went into professional acting, she took her mother's maiden name because she didn't want to use the Italian surname of her father, who was Frank Campana.

You have two options from this point; change the Wikipedia name from "Campagna" back to "Campana" where it belongs, or continue to use the name with the wrong spelling. IT'S OK TO USE UNSOURCED INFORMATION OR QUESTIONABLE SOURCED INFORMATION AS LONG AS THE INFORMATION IS CORRECT. Randy49 (talk) 20:53, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I know that before he was indefinitely blocked, one of our former editors (User:Anthony22) felt strongly that we should change the name based on his personal knowledge. I can tell that you feel strongly as well, given the statement in all caps there. I think this is the difficulty: Wikipedia:Verifiability is considered one of Wikipedia's core content policies, and it says: "Wikipedia does not publish original research. Its content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of editors. Even if you are sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it." Name Pronunciation[edit]

Due to the spelling, her surname is frequently mispronounced as 'Truhn-dee', the correct pronunciation of it is 'Troon-dee'.
