Is it really the first feature film released on TPB? Brorsan Såsett was released on TPB too. But I'm not really sure what feature film means :)

"Steal This Film" and it's sequel "Steal This Film II" were both released on TPB, but they are documentaries. I hesitate to change this without citation.Kid Bugs (talk) 04:04, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now hold on please....![edit]

I stumbled on this film today (via Nasty Old People (2009) & looking around found it intriguing & its wikipage. This film was released on 10 October & on the 14th Roger W Haworth proposed its page for deletion on 21st October for "Lack of notability". That alone makes me interested in looking at it, which I may not have time to do before the 21st. Mr Haworth has 'achieved' 4000 deletions-I have nothing personally against him & am glad he has achieved many more edits. Cleanup is useful, but this film is creative, collaborative & offered freely as a service for admirable motives-I think it should be allowed to flourish & encouraged in all ways possible-I love the accessibility of wikipedia, lets use & never abuse it. I propose to allow this page to grow-it now is in 2 other languages. DadaNeem (talk) 21:07, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have now seen the trailer & probably won't look further, but defend it's right to be shared & seen. Also added some edits to the page & I agree with the above comment that it may not be the first feature film on piratebay. DadaNeem (talk) 21:07, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

> It is proposed that this article be deleted because of the following concern: no evidence of notability

Can the person who proposed this deletion explain why these other 1330 films from 2009 which currently have a wikipedia page are more notable than Nasty Old People? I am sure that most people never heard of at least 1300 of those movies. Nasty Old People on the other hand has already created notability by being released under a CC license (the first time in Sweden I understand) and uses it's fan base to distribute, improve and promote the movie much in the same fashion as open source software does. That is in itself unique for a movie. Though I don't doubt that others have tried this before, it's at least more notable than most of the other 1330 movies from 2009. So when you're done deleting the wikipedia pages for the other 1300 non-notable movies from 2009, we can talk about deleting this one. In the mean time I absolutely vote against deletion. Instead I propose tagging the page as a stub and calling on people to help improve it without the threat of deletion. --Ottodv (talk) 18:13, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I find it disturbing that someone who clearly has no understanding of the subject matter has taken it upon himself to propose deletion of this (or any article) without taking time to do some basic research first. A few minutes of simple research would have shown that this article is of considerable "notability".
Although Wikipedia may be a magnet for self-serving garbage articles, those who chose to police such should not allow themselves to fall into the habit of deleting with the same lack of concern as the garbage posters. Perhaps he should stick to subjects that he is familiar with. Kid Bugs (talk) 03:16, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First[edit]

Contrary to the marketing claim that this is the first CC film. Elephants Dream was released over 3 years ago under CC. So unless someone can provide some reliable sources indicating otherwise (I can't possibly imagine how) I'm going to remove the claim in a day.--Crossmr (talk) 23:57, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Even this year, Big Buck Bunny [1] was released in January.--Crossmr (talk) 06:07, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
