Should I make a connection between the dysarthria page and this one? Also, cerebral palsy often results in a nasal voice due to the (already mentioned) velopharyngeal insufficiency. Cruise332 (talk) 16:10, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lead sentence[edit]

The lead sentence currently is:

A nasal voice is a type of speaking voice characterized by speech with a "nasal" quality to it.

This is self-referential and thus not helpful. The first or second sentence should state just what it is that characterizes a "nasal quality"—is it something about the pitch, or the combination of pitches, or what? Loraof (talk) 17:49, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't it be helpful to have recordings of people speaking with "nasally" tones? I agree with the post above - there's really nothing in this article that actually explains what it is.
