Did you know... that a pyramid (artist's impression pictured) that contained the grave of Queen Amanishakheto was located in Wad ban Naqa and her stone stela was discovered in Naqa, both of which are in modern-day Sudan?

Seeming contradiction in the article...[edit]

In the article, it says that the site dates back to the 4th century BCE, but later in the article it states that temple "500", built by Shanakdakhete/o in 135 BCE, is the oldest building on the site. 135 BCE is in the 2nd century BCE. Am I missing something or not considering something that I should? - A.Tamar Chabadi (talk) 16:11, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The excavators argue that the site must date back to at least the late 3rd century because the Meroitic name of Naqa is recorded in an inscription in Musawwarat, cf. site guide, p. 39. They further assume, that before a temple is built there should be left time for a city ti develop. Tobias Paul (talk) 19:31, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Some modifications in "Research"[edit]

Since 2013 the excavation changed from Egyptian Museum Berlin to the Egyptian Museum in Munich. Main archaeologists are now Dietrich Wildung and Carla Kroeper. As a consequence of this also the statue of Isis (pictured in the article) is now on display (as a long term loan from Sudan) at the Museum in Munich.
