The date of birth in the first para is 1805. The date of birth in the caption underneath the picture on the right is 1806. Similarly other sites seem to be hedging their bets on this one - eg the Naxos site says "COSTE, NAPOLEON (1805 - 1883) - Napoléon Coste was born in France in 1806...". - Oniscoid (talk) 08:56, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

apparently Coste's birth certicate has been found, and the correct year of his birth is 1805 -- "The recent location of Coste' s birth certificate by Dr.Brian Jeffrey clearly establishes his date of birth as 28thJune 1805 and not 27th June 1806" [1] - Oniscoid (talk) 09:20, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

the negative comment on Coste's "Méthode complète pour la Guitare" (which is now widely quoted outside of Wikipedia) is not referenced, and furthermore is contradicted by the Wiki page on Sor's Méthode pour la Guitare which discusses this point, and references no less an authority than Matanya Ophee in refuting it -- therefore i'm rephrasing that para - Oniscoid (talk) 09:20, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
