A few Things

Anyone want to help with the 2009 In NASCAR Canadian Tire Series page Tyb222 (talk) 09:30, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

It was called the Napa 100, I also did a Major up date and Don Thompson, Jr's Name was spelt wrong. The Specs I got off the driver cards that the teams publish User:Tyb222 —Preceding undated comment was added at 05:21, 5 September 2008 (UTC) Tyb222 (talk) 05:26, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

His name is spelled Thomson, not Thompson. I don't care what the source for the spelling Thompson is, it is incorrect. I have is 2008 driver card sitting in front of me and it has the correct spelling Thomson.

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve Race Name

What is the source stating that the Canadian Tire Series race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is named "NAPA Auto Parts 200"? I think it may be a confusion with the NASCAR Busch series event at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve which is named "NAPA Auto Parts 200". I did not see a name listed for the Canadian Tire Series event at the website for Circuit Gilles Villeneuve or at NASCAR.ca. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Toledo47 (talkcontribs).

I have removed the information, as wrong or potentially wrong information should be removed quickly per Jimbo's comments. It's better to have nothing than something wrong.
A couple of other minor things: You should start a new thread at the bottom of the page. Also, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Royalbroil 12:49, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Year Founded

I don't understand why the year founded is listed as 2006, really it was just a name change. The series is exactly the same. If It was founded last year then J.R. Fitzpatrick should not be listed as current champion as that was CASCAR and not NASCAR Canadian Tire Series... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.189.52.236 (talkcontribs).

Do they use the same cars? Did NASCAR dramatically change the rules? Did most of the drivers remain in the series? I want to know more so the right decision is made. I wish you would expand the article if you are very familiar with the series. Royalbroil 04:22, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

So far the rules all seem the same, the cars are the same except that they introduced the 2007 Dodge Avenger this year, As far as I know all the full time teams from last season are still competing. I think the only major change that has been done yet was the name change. I have heard some rumors that some rule and car changes will occur in the future, but nothing has been said by NASCAR about that as far as I know. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.189.52.236 (talkcontribs).

I have changed the infobox. Would you please expand the article? It is critical, and it is hard to find sources since I am in the United States. Royalbroil 05:03, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm actually in the US as well, but have attended races(just went to Barrie on Sunday) and watch it on TV. I don't know if I have any substantial information to add on the series. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.189.52.236 (talkcontribs).

Ok, that makes sense. Royalbroil 05:30, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

CASCAR Question

Will NASCAR change the rules of CASCAR? I know the cars will likely change as NASCAR will enforce their rules, but will they keep the same tracks and races like street races?

Good question. The future will tell. Royalbroil T : C 18:05, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Merge request

I don't think this page should be merged in with NASCAR Canada but Rather with NASCAR Canadian Tire Series or a 3 way merger which I think may be best.Sawblade05 06:22, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

The preceding comment was pasted from the talk page under CASCAR. Royalbroil Talk  Contrib 03:24, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

I strongly disagree with the merge request. I expect this article to grow rapidly to the size of the Craftsman Truck Series. All 4 articles are on separate topics in my opinion.

  • CASCAR SuperSeries is what this series USED to be before NASCAR purchased it, and it should remain as a history of that series.
  • CASCAR was the sanctioning body of the former series won't be related to this series.
  • NASCAR Canada is the name of a company in Canada that NASCAR created for marketing its entire NASCAR name, including NEXTEL Cup, Busch Series, Craftsman Truck Series, and the new NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.
  • NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is the new fourth tier NASCAR series based on its purchase of the CASCAR SuperSeries.

Royalbroil Talk  Contrib 02:56, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Do Not Merge - I agree with Royalbroil. The articles should stay seperate. I would, however, be agreeable to merging NASCAR Canada into the main NASCAR article. CASCAR and NASCAR Canadian Tire Series should be seperate. -- DiegoTehMexican 11:15, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Toyota All Star Showdown on Schedule

I think that the Toyota All Star Showdown should be removed from the schedule. It really has nothing to do with the series. Sure the champion and 2 other Canadian Tire Series drivers have been invited, but nobody considered IROC part of any of the series associated with it. The Toyota All Star Showdown does not even run the same type of car, The Busch East/West cars are completly different from the Canadian Tire Series/CASCAR cars. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.31.115.19 (talk) 08:14, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

It is known as NCATS not NCTS by NASCAR because the trucks have the NCTS Abbreviation. Tyb222 (talk) 07:33, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
