Broadcast date[edit]

I knwo the date in the infobox is the date of the live Doctor Who Prom (which is braodcast live on Radio 3), but it appears that it won't be on TV that day - any reliable source on when it'll be on BBC ONE? - How will we handle the braodcast date in the infobox then? Perhaps note the live Radio 3 broadcast and the delayed BBC ONE broadcast? Etron81 (talk) 14:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Something like the "Original Channel" section on the Torchwood page infobox. i.e.
BBC Radio 3: 27 July 2008 (audio only)
BBC One: 30 July 2008

Somebody deleted my reference without explaining why, I have readded it as I believe it to be a perfectly useful reference to when and where the cutaway will be broadcast. BBC One: TBA - are you sure it's even going to be on BBC One? BBC Four shows the Proms and BBC Two braodcasts highlights. So if it's on TV at all, it would surely be one of those, not BBC One. Digifiend (talk) 11:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graske[edit]

It is pretty clear now that the Graske WILL be in the Proms episode, I have added a link that has a pictured scene from the cutaway. So I think that it should remain this time. While that may be proof, I don't think we should cite blogs. If it's in DWM 398 as the blog claims, we can cite that. I have dropped a line with another editor who has DWM 398 and asked him to change it if possible. So#Why 14:15, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Expand subject matter to Doctor Who Proms?[edit]

The filmed content is arguably what's of most interest to Doctor Who fans, but there's been substantial press coverage of the Doctor Who Proms in general (see The Independent, The Times, Guardian, Daily Mail, Evening Standard, The Sun). Should the article's subject matter be expanded to include the concert as a whole, which has more notability than the 7-minute scene? —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 19:39, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We should probably discuss the Doctor Who Proms under its own article, much like Doctor Who: A Celebration. This article can then be referenced from the Proms article as the mini-episode that was shown during the event. Conversely (and depending on the level of detail in the content), this article can be merged with the Proms article. DonQuixote (talk) 20:11, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think there is sufficient material for two separate articles, given that the Doctor Who Proms article can detail the Doctor Who and classical music played, the Doctor Who actors' guest appearances and the monsters that appeared during the concert both on stage and amongst the audience. Additionally, I think most reviewers will review the whole concert and not just "Music of the Spheres" so reviews should be able to provide more content for both articles. Yes, there will be some overlap, but details specific to "Music of the Spheres" should remain on this article and the concert article can link to this one. Place in Continuity of the Show[edit]

I'm unsure on the offical stance but could this episode be set sometime around the 'Last of the Timelords' / 'Time Crash' / 'Voyage of the Damned' period as it features the Doctor in the blue suit that is now in a parallel universe (in the ownership of the Half Human Doctor), the shields are down (as back then) and the Doctor is quite happy in his alone state (unlikely to be after Journey's End considering his sadness, which is maintained (as River Song's comments showed) Pretty much I'm just saying that it seems to fit in there continuity wise - show does that need mentioning? 86.131.171.170 (talk) 16:42, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberman Introducing Interval?[edit]

I was at the Prom and don't remember a Cyberman introducing the interval as this article suggests under the transmission section. I remember the first half just ending and the lights coming up after Music of the Spheres was shown. Production[edit]

I removed a few links because I felt that they were a little unnecessary and made almost the entire section into a massive link. Do we really need links to Ancient Rome, dates, 2 links to 'recorder' etc? It looks very messy.   • Wouldn't a colon be better than a semicolon after "Davies cites as examples of the Doctor's previous associations with music", as it's introducing a list?

  • There shouldn't be a space before ref 3 in the Length parameter of the infobox (very pendantic, I know).

  • The rule of thumb for fair-use images is that they shouldn't exceed 0.1 megapixels. Image:Graskedoctor.png is currently a little over, but it's not a big deal - I won't fail the GAN if it's not scaled down a little. The Purpose and Portion parameters of the fair use template should be fixed, though.
