Creating a Safe Space for LGBT Life in Uganda: The Pride Munyonyo Project[edit]

Pride munyonyo is community LGBT empowerment umbrella .it’s a non-profit Organization and of our activities safe, accessible. We raise one voice for the voiceless LGBT people in our community or society. Those who have been neglected because of their morals like same sex couples e.g. gays.Pride munyonyo is engaging with various members and groups of our community to receive feedback and discuss ways we can address concerns in order to improve as an organization.

We meet twice a week to exchange ideas and check on each other progress regarding the different assignment we are working on. We have also reflected on our past and acknowledged that we haven’t always handled challenging situation like The Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2014 (previously called the "Kill the Gaysbill" in the western mainstream media due to death penalty clauses proposed in the original version) was passed by the Parliament of Uganda on 20 December 2013 with life in prison substituted for the death penalty.We have come up with now what we call Pride.

Be part of us Pride Munyonyo was originally established BY Mr Lukyamuzi Acram Musisi an LGBT activists in April 2012 with the ambition to help with LGBTQI persons from East Africa domestically within Uganda and more in Africa . Our Goals ==== To advocate and lobby through coordination of efforts by local and international bodies for the equality of all Ugandans irrespective of gender, age, sexual orientation, tribe, religion, and social status. To build and strengthen visibility through media, literature, dialogues, debates, and drama. To advocate and lobby for social and judicial inclusion of people with diversity. To fight against HIV/AIDS in the LGBT, MSM and WSW community. To generate data and information, and knowledge on LGBT human rights abuses and provide remedies.

Our Vision A Liberated Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) people of Uganda.
