Most wins?[edit]

In the main body of this article there is a statement:

C.B.C. leading the standings with 27 wins, closely followed by P.B.C. with 26

(This is repeated in the Christian Brothers College, Cork article.)

However, unless I'm missing something, a quick count of wins based on the table shows:

Given the disparity between the "count" from the list, and lack of any explanation to explain this variance, have reworded the offending paragraph to avoid reference to the number of wins by various schools. (And so "list" can speak for itself.) Guliolopez 15:31, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability?[edit]

Agreed. It could probably do with some secondary sources, but the subject definitely meets the general notability requirements:

  • It's been running for 100 years.
  • It's the highlight of the schools rugby calendar and attracts enough attention to warrant the involvement of quite substantive sponsorship.
  • It has been a "proving ground" for more than a few players who've gone on to play for the Munster, national schoolboy and senior national team.
  • It's importance has warranted coverage for the last number of years by RTÉ, as well as live broadcast on national cable TV channels. ("substantive coverage")
  • It is generally well covered by the sports editors of the major national papers (Times Indo, etc.) (Also showing "substantive coverage")
  • The Munster Rugby franchise throws much of its weight behind it (sending out ex-Munster School boy players like Frankie Sheahan, Denis Fogarty, and others on related press calls, etc.)

I'm going to find a (summarised) way of asserting this notability in the text, will add some relevant secondary sources, and will remove the tag. (Unless there are any objections). Guliolopez (talk) 18:38, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was me who added tag, and I'd be delighted to see the article improved enough to allow their removal. If the text clearly asserts notability, and that notability is supported by relevant secondary sources, then the tags should indeed go.
