Height of masts - why two masts[edit]

Which mast is 152.4 metres tall? The old one or the new one? Is it planned to dismantle the old mast when the new mast took the service? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.139.117.61 (talk) 17:19, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The new mast is 220m tall, and most documentation seems to indicate the old mast had a height of 170m, however that may be incorrect. The new mast is taller in order to combat windmill interference and increase the coverage area of UHF transmissions from the mast. 84.203.165.49 (talk) 17:52, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Height source for new mast[edit]

According to http://www.iaa.ie/safe_reg/iaip/Published%20Files/AIP%20Files/ENR/EI_ENR_5_4_EN.pdf the mast at Mullaghanish is still 500 ft ( 152.4 metres) high. Please give an official source of the new mast mention its height to 220 metres. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.46.180.161 (talk) 12:02, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
