Page moved to Moscow City Hall (Idaho). This basic form seems to have a clear consensus. There does not appear to be a consensus to repeat Moscow. Vegaswikian (talk) 06:20, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moscow, Idaho, City Hall → Moscow City Hall (Moscow, Idaho)—Move to a standard type name. A source has been provided which documents "Moscow City Hall" as name. No source supports "Moscow, Idaho, City Hall". Adding some disambiguating phrase is necessary, and I believe adding (City, State) type disambiguation phrase is best, in parallel to names of most NRHP-listed and other places. And to convey there is a Moscow, Idaho; this is not a copy of the city hall in Russia like the London Bridge in arizona. That would be out of the usual format for historic buildings and other places, and I think probably against naming conventions guidelines. Hmm, looking at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names)#Disambiguation i don't see that specifically addressed, but i am not aware of any examples like what you suggest. I think the reasonable candidates using "Moscow City Hall" would be "Moscow City Hall (Idaho)" or "Moscow City Hall (Moscow, Idaho)", and i prefer the latter. Like i said, in part i prefer the latter to convey this is not a copy, in Idaho, of the Moscow City Hall in Moscow, like the London Bridge in arizona is a copy of a London Bridge in London. Also, I just like following the (City, State) practice consistently in articles about U.S. historic buildings and otherwise. By the way, I do notice that there is hatnote disambiguation at Moscow City Hall already pointing to this article, which would be updated following a rename. --doncram (talk) 20:50, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think I'd prefer MCH(I) here, as you suggest, rather than duplicating "Moscow". I created an article at Brewer High School (Brewer, Maine), but it was moved to just have the Maine disambiguator, which makes sense to me here as well. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 23:26, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The London Bridge (Lake Havasu City) is most definitely NOT a replica of the London Bridge in London. Anyway, it's not the place of the title to try to eliminate every possible misconception about the subject; it's sufficient that the title uniquely identify the subject. Moscow City Hall (Idaho) does that just fine without being redundant. Powers T 10:54, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I considered that, but http://www.moscow.id.us/cityclerk/city_clerk.aspx lists it as "Moscow City Hall", as does BD2412's link above, so that's what I went with. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 16:57, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support move as nominated, though I think even better would be Moscow City Hall (Idaho) as suggested by Doncram and also preferred by SarekOfVulcan and Powers; there is no reason to repeat Moscow in the disambiguation information; this title would clearly convey the correct name of the subject, Moscow City Hall, while also effectively disambiguating.
