Untitled[edit]

Source - Google Translation of the Polish Wikipedia version of this page - and I keep passing it in the bus.

I also added detail on links and on Pope Benedict's visit (as the translation sounds like he happened to drive past). This Polish Wikipedia page ( https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podr%C3%B3%C5%BC_apostolska_Benedykta_XVI_do_Polski ) shows the itinerary and that he was deliberately driven by important monuments.

Could someone check if this: "Pomnik przedstawia ładunek krzyży na kolejowej platformie, która ustawiona jest na torach, a na każdym podkładzie widnieje nazwa miejscowości znanej z kaźni narodu polskiego w ZSRR." actually means what I think it means: "The statue shows a pile of crosses on the train platform, which is set on tracks, and each railway sleeper shows the name of a town known for a massacre of Polish people by the Soviet Union." ...and correct if necessary. The translation indicates the sleepers show Polish towns but it may mean places where Poles were killed in the Soviet Union - I'm not sure. Escottf (talk) 15:12, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's a pretty accurate translation. I'd probably change massacre to suffering. In the future, please crosspost such questions to WT:POLAND, it's a small chance anyone but me will see comment on a new talk page like this, and even I have a ~week delay in responding here, if I don't miss it. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:11, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unref content[edit]

I am removing "The monument is looked after by members of the Federation of Katyn Families (Federacja Rodzin Katyńskich) and by veterans' organizations." - I cannot find a reference for this. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:48, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
