Springfield zipcode[edit]

Why doesnt this Article make reference to when moe said springfields zipcode spelt "boobs"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.22.118.138 (talk) 12:24, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because it is a 3 second joke. CTJF83 chat 16:23, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but it pertains to where Springfield is located. It's a big deal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.22.118.138 (talk) 12:17, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's location isn't real and is mostly trivial. CTJF83 chat 17:22, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The joke's been added to Springfield (The Simpsons)#Location. WCityMike 00:38, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It was rightly reverted, please do not readd it...as you said, it is a joke. CTJF83 chat 04:56, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't add it to this article, I added it to the relevant location on Wikipedia, but, as you pointed out, it was reverted. As for whether it was a "right" revert, obviously, my opinion as to that question differs from those who made such a revert. In the meantime, please don't gloat. It's not very civil. WCityMike 06:05, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am in no way being uncivil or gloating. CTJF83 chat 06:28, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you could hardly be expected to agree to such a statement. WCityMike 15:51, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The actual geographical location of the Simpsons family and Springfield is a subject of hot debate and is one of the most discussed topics around the series. Any time there is any kind of mention or clue that might help viewers figure out their actual location it is picked over like the discover of a new star. The information IS relevant, it ISN'T trivial, and to say otherwise shows a lack of knowledge on the subject. CouplandForever (talk) 18:19, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Don't come in with a condescending attitude, acting like you know how WP:Doh works. I have been a member of the project for nearly 3 years, and know how the main editors view trivial information like this. CTJF83 chat 19:40, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, that's nearly a word-for-word mirror of Wikipedia:OWN#Comments. WCityMike 21:00, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't need some user saying "lack of knowledge on the subject" when s/he never edits Simpsons articles, and I know what the project consensus is. CTJF83 chat 21:21, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Again, WP:OWN. Seriously, you're almost at the point where you're point-for-point mirroring the article's description. See #10 on Wikipedia:OWN#On revert, for example. And, by the way, WP:OWN's a policy, not a guideline, essay, or set of WikiProject preferences. No WikiProject nor set of editors own an article. WCityMike 21:32, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
