Not a wide variety of sources (mostly the Mississippi governance and Google maps) but they are official and satisfactory coverage for the subject in this case - if there is more 'pop' history that might be relevant, an admittedly quick search hasn't found it
Remove wikilink to Martin Luther King Jr. from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive - King is not the road; if there is an article for things named after King, that may be a more appropriate target – also link MS 182 earlier in the sentence

Route description generally seems fine
Some connective is needed after the comma in The sections near Pheba and in Chickasaw County were paved in asphalt, the remaining sections were laid with gravel (or change it to a semi-colon)

The phrasing of projects to construct three bridges and grading, drainage, and gravel surfacing along 3.4-mile (5.5 km) section of MS 389 makes it a little strange to read, mostly because of the different verb forms in "to construct" and "grading" etc. Just adding a 'for' in front of "grading" would fix that, but the various actions could be rearranged to improve it further
