Lead content restored[edit]

I have restored some content that was removed from the lead (diff), because the content is it is directly relevant and significant relative to the article's topic, and its omission reduces the quality of the article. North America¹⁰⁰⁰ 16:50, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that you will use the same generic rationale for everything. In the process, you removed three usable reliable sources that I had restored to the article after your initial removal. I have restored the sources to the article again (diff), because they certainly are not "unsourced and irrelevant fancruft"; they're independent news sources. I have restored content to the lead that was again removed (diff). The content improves the quality of the article, is entirely non-contentious in nature, and is entirely about subjects that are notable per Wikipedia's standards: Peter Marshall, Alexandra Bastedo, Koreana and Donny Osmond. Information about event hosts and performers is relevant relative to the overall topic and is credible to provide a balanced overview of the event. Its omission reduces the quality of the article for Wikipedia's readers. Many articles about competitions have information about hosts and entertainers for events, because they play a significant role in such events. Furthermore, it's very likely that offline sources are available that provide coverage. Internet coverage of 1988 events is not in abundance, because the internet was not in widespread usage at this time. North America¹⁰⁰⁰ 20:16, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
