Various edits of October 2016[edit]

I located an archived version of the Miss World website that gives the official results for 1951. It now appears as a general reference (along with the pageantopolis page). The official web page shows that there were no runners-up beyond the first two, so I removed the listings for third and fourth runners-up in the table. The pageantopolis site expresses uncertainty about the identity of the contestant from Holland, but the official site confirms the name, so I removed the citation-needed tags. Finally, I removed the unsourced statement about the Pope. NewYorkActuary (talk) 23:42, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Date[edit]

There seems to be some disagreement as to the date this event was held. Both Miss World and this article currently say 27 July 1951, but the table at List of Miss World titleholders says 29 July 1951 (not in the source cited for the name of the winner), and the first cited source in this article says 19 April 1951. (!) Can we get a RS for the date? - dcljr (talk) 11:48, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
