Mass-attack, need more protection[edit]

Help! Previously I found that this Miss Supranational 2021 article using so many unreliable references, from sites Facebook, Instagram, Blog such as Conan Daily and many other blogging sites. It's ridiculous that the beauty pageant page on wikipedia uses haphazard information, I removed some unreliable references that wikipedia has banned from using, based on Wikipedia:WikiProject Beauty Pageants/Sources, but suddenly now some users continue to edit using the blog site, I warn some of them, but can you take a look on Miss Supranational 2021 article. Some of the irresponsible users having the same pattern of deleting well-sourced information, they kept on editing without reference and delete the actual information that is already backed by trusted reliable sources since the finale night of the competition. This Miss Supranational 2021 article was flagged for disruptive editing, and the edit history shows a flurry of aggressive drive-by IPs and fresh accounts. So under WP:BLP, I do hope that this page need a multiple protections, cause the recent protection seems didn't help. But New accounts and IP editors are still able to discuss proposed changes in the talk page here, and should.--Lukewon (talk) 17:59, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please be specific about which sources you think are inappropriate? A good way to respond to the question is make a list of links to edits which you consider to be inappropriate and for each please explain why. WP:BLP does not apply to this page since it is not a biography. --Salimfadhley (talk) 18:24, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Salimfadhley: As we can see here, some of the edits made by users who removed legitimate reliable sourced information about the Continental Queens of Beauty, Miss Congeniality, and many other awards seem completely unreasonable here, as the actual information is already backed up by trusted news agencies and published right after the final night results of the Miss Supranational 2021 competition, here is a list of unreasonable deletions and disruptive edits without any reference by some user:
  • [1] edits by The Crown Whisperer deleting a bunch of well-sourced awards information from the news agencies that stated Indonesia is the winner of Miss Congeniality and changing the Miss Congeniality winner with Bahamas plus changing the source with a Facebook post, which Facebook is not a reliable source based on Wikipedia:WikiProject Beauty Pageants/Sources.
  • [2], [3], [4], [5], edits by The Crown Whisperer removed a lot of legitimate reliable news agency sources that coverage the Award Winners information, edit And leave it without any reference.
  • [6] edits by Marina.ketova65 removed a lot of legitimate reliable news agency sources that coverage the Award Winners information, and changing Miss Congeniality winner without any reference.
  • [7] edits by Marina.ketova65 removed a lot of legitimate reliable news agency sources that coverage the Award Winners information, and changing Miss Congeniality winner without any reference.
  • [8] edits by Underbednangngam removed a lot of legitimate reliable news agency sources that coverage the Award Winners information, and changing Miss Congeniality winner without any reference.
Below is the list of Awards winner + legitimate reliable sources that have been removed unreasonably by users on above list, all the reference was published after the finale night of the Miss Supranational 2021 competition, where the results publicly shown on the stage and aired on TV worldwidely. Some reliable news agencies that covers the pageant finale results are: Daily Tribune (Philippines), Jakarta Globe, Tribun Network, Pikiran Rakyat, Radio Republik Indonesia, Tempo (Indonesian magazine), BeritaSatu and many more.

I do not think the examples you posted are bad edits. This article suffers from Citation Overkill. Some very minor points (e.g. the Indonesian winner of Best Costume have more than six citations. One is enough to establish a simple fact. Please try to build consensus with other editors who may have legitimate concerns with the way that this article is being edited. If you find yourself constantly disagreeing with other editors it might be better to find another topic to edit. --Salimfadhley (talk) 00:39, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Citation overkill[edit]

This article seems to be in the middle of an edit war over citations. In general we look for reliable secondary sources for all citations, however for certain matters of fact (e.g. who won a beauty competition) it is perfectly acceptable to cite a primary source such as operators of the pageant. It is not necessary to cite every single claim, especially in a table when the entire contents of a table can be referenced to a single source. Citing a small claim multiple times (e.g. 6 citations for who won the "best costume" prize) is obvious citation overkill and makes the article look bad. There is no reason to do this, and the correct thing to do would be to remove redundant citations. It is not the purpose of Wikipedia to include every possible source related to a subject. --Salimfadhley (talk) 13:58, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Wrong info[edit]

The winner of Miss Congeniality is Miss Bahamas not Miss Indonesia. I'm Indonesian myself but i need to change the wrong things fairly. Haikalnursima (talk) 11:06, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

False Information[edit]
