Changes to the notes on Miss Poitou-Charentes and Miss Côte d'Azur and on introduction.[edit]

Good evening @Jjj1238, I'm writing to you here to find out why you removed the additions I had made to the notes on Miss Poitou-Charentes and Miss Côte d'Azur and in the introduction? The information I've included about these two Misses are particularities that set them apart from the others and may be interesting and important to mention. As for the introduction, it's logical that the Dijon Zenith is in Dijon (it's not going to be in Marseille or Pointe-à-Pitre ... ) and I find it repetitive, cumbersome and pointless to say "Au zénith de Dijon dans la ville de Dijon'" and that saying the region is more appropriate. Finally, beyond being from Guadeloupe (which is not wrong), Indira Ampiot is best known for being Miss France 2023. France-Pt9301 (talk) 23:50, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@France-Pt9301: The notes you added about Poitou-Charentes and Côte d'Azur do not meet the standards for inclusion. I understand that these are mentioned on the French Wikipedia, but different language Wikipedias have different standards, and having a sister with Down syndrome or being the girlfriend of someone are not considered notable enough for mention on our Wikipedia's beauty pageant articles. This has been the way it is for many years, the French Wikipedia also mentions the ethnic origins of candidates which is not considered relevant here either. The information in the lede is also the standard formatting for these articles: the host city is mentioned because it is relevant and it contains a link to the actual article for Dijon if readers want to read that article, it would be there regardless of the name of the venue. Indira's home region is mentioned because it will be put in comparison to the home region of the winner, since each candidate is representing a region. Please do not readd these edits. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 00:38, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jjj1238 I didn't know that note standards varied between editions. And, does the fact that one candidate (Sonia Coutant Miss Franche-Comté) has endometriosis and that Elena Faliez (Miss Ile-de-France) is the oldest candidate to take part in Miss France since the rules on the age of candidates were changed, with her 28 years of age, meet the standards of English Wikipedia? No these are not relevant things to mention. We'll mention familial connections to otherwise notable people (romantic relationships do not count), or other information that could otherwise make them notable outside of Miss France, such as Miss Picardie 2021 being a politician in her municipal council. Having a disease is not notable. I also see that you went in and added the candidates' first names to their notes, that is not how formal English works when writing about a person. We will always use solely the last name after the first mention of the first name, and that is how Wikipedia handles this as well, so please do not readd their first names. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 18:26, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
