Miodrag Belodedić → Miodrag Belodedici — The player is obviously reffered to as Miodrag BELODEDICI by for example FIFA, the Romanian FA, by others. He seems much more commonly referred to as ...dici. A google news search shows the same[1][2]. The page was moved without a discussion in the first place, and seemed to have been moved to his "Serbian" name, even though he's Romanian. ro:Miodrag Belodedici has him at ...dici. — chan dler · 23:59, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Support - while he is an ethnic Serb and did play in Yugoslavia, he's also from Romania and played there at the peak of his career, also playing for the Romanian national team. During that time he was always known as -ici, including -- and this is key for our purposes -- in the English-language press: [3]. This isn't, by the way, a diacritics issue; Serbian -ић (-ić) is transliterated as -ici in Romanian, and since he's a Romanian player, English usage went along with that. Had he been a Yugoslav native and player, the press would have called him Belodedic, but that is overwhelmingly not the case. - Biruitorul ^Talk 07:10, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First Player to Win EC/CL with 2 Different Clubs[edit]

Belodedici wasn't the first player to win the European Cup with 2 different clubs: it was Jimmy Rimmer. He won a medal as a sub with Man Utd in 1968 and played the first 9 mins of Aston Villa's final in 1982. Therefore, Belodedici was the first player to win the European Cup with two different clubs and play in both finals.
