Comment from Milacron Employee[edit]

Greetings, I work for Milacron in a marketing role and would like to update some content on the article. It's quite dated.

We've rebranded the company with a new logo and the group of "companies" within Milacron are now brands, not companies.

Some of the C-level folks are either incorrect or missing.

I want to ensure the content is up to date but I also want to ensure I'm not violating any Wikipedia rules.

My intention is not to fill the page with "marketing copy", I just want to ensure the content is accurate and up to date.

Most of the new information can be found on our new website: www.milacron.com

@Michaeljamescrawford:Hello Michael, I work in the plastics industry and I have been the main contributor to this article and have used both Cincinnati and Milacron equipment. I created the article only a couple months ago before your logo had changed (I get e-mail updates so I know the re-branding and logo change just happened a couple weeks ago, I believe it was unveiled at NPE2015). I had already planned on updating the new logo when I have a chance, and shortly after the announcement I added the "brands" section to specify the new brands and heritage brands as stated on the Milacron website. That being said, the difficulty we have in updating many of these things is that Wikipedia does not consider primary sources (such as Milacron's official website) as reliable, as those sources will always portray the subject matter in the best possible light and Wikipedia aims for a neutral point of view. Also, press releases like those found in the NPE emails I receive are not considered reliable sources either. If you can provide links to reliable secondary or tertiary sources with accurate information I will be glad to add the information to the article. As the article is right now, it already relies too heavily on the primary source of Milacron's website. Wikipedia policy does allow for primary sources to be used only for "straightforward statements of fact" other than that we cannot use the website for anything else, and I feel I have already stretched the limit on what can be sourced there. Check back mid-next week and I should have the new logo in place for you. -War wizard90 (talk) 04:58, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
