I moved this article from Microbial Fuel Cell to Microbial fuel cell. Unless there is some reason that words after the first should be capitalized, they should not be (see Wikipedia:Naming conventions). I went through the history of microbial fuel cell, but except for a single post by Colinreilly, I did not but a sub-stub and later a redirect. Colinreilly started Microbial Fuel Cell, presumably copying and pasting according to the comment above, so I think that takes care of the GFDL. -- Kjkolb 08:39, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

yes - a benthic microbial fuel cell is designed specifically to be deployed in ocean sediments. BMFCs (it is hoped) will someday be able to power remote undersea devices.

The summary / abstract is awful. It immediately jumps into discussion of a specific concept, "mediator-less", without any attempt to provide an overview or even define the words.

With biohydrogen?[edit]

Soil based MFC photo[edit]

The current soil based MFC photo is attributed to a "MFCguy2010" under a Creative Commons license, but is clearly from KeegoTech's MudWatt primer (albeit an older version of the PDF than is currently online https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0598/6373/files/Beginner_Intro_to_MFCs.pdf?8801). About microbial fuel cells[edit]

The article about MFC´s is not updated. New topics about Microbial Fuel Cells have been developed recently. The reference about current research practises is not enough to justify the statement made in the article about the way to measure. Please, it is required to be neutral. If there are researchers that use external loads have the same validation than using potentiostats. Current measured in series with one of the electrodes in a potentiostat is exactly the same as the current calculated by Ohm´s law using a resistor and measuring the voltage across it. Current can also be measured in short circuit conditions with no external load. That is known as short-circuit current. However, this current has less value than current obtained at the maximum power point, only measurable with external resistor or a potentiostat by plotting polarization curve (J vs V) and calculating the power output of the MFC. --Rodenas84 (talk) 22:37, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
