Immediate deletion?????[edit]

Excuse me. What is the objection with the Michael White reference? I actually have two of the three albums and it is a well-known tribute combo for Zeppelin fans with many years behind. In the Led Zeppelin article there's a link to Fred Zeppelin, just a pub band with no albums at all. There was no research at all, the deletion banner was set only a couple of minutes after I edited the article, no given time to expand or explain. I find this outrageous, just deleting an article without even researching or discussing it! --Trencacloscas 15:23, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was deleted under the Speedy Deletion policy because you did not demonstrate the notability of the topic. If you want, you can contest the speedy deletion and a Wikipedian will instead nominate your article for the AfD process, where you can defend the article you have written. What is the qualifications for a tribute band per WP:BAND? Wildthing61476 16:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BAND and notability[edit]

I reformed the article to assert the notability of the subject and to show that it matches many points of the [WP:BAND] criteria:

This three for starters:

  • "Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)". Michael White released one album on Atlantic/Warner, two on Griffin Music (Anderson-Bruford-Wakeman-Howe, Motörhead, Thin Lizzy, Mike Oldfield, Olivia Newton-John, Hawkwind, Nazareth, David Bowie, many other household names) and two more for a minor indie. Check [1].
  • "Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable". Michael White played in an early incarnation of Mötley Crüe, and performed with later members of Dokken and W.A.S.P. He also did some minor participations in recordings for Accept and Blue Murder (not in the article yet, I'm still researching for this one)
  • "Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country, reported in notable and verifiable sources." Reported in Kerrang! (U.K.), Poppy Rock (Germany), Music Connection (California), Metal Shock (Italy), The Calgary Sun, etc.

I guess I can take some more points into shape, but maybe this is enough. --Trencacloscas 06:18, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
