Anyone who can figure out a way to condense all of that down is welcome to try :-) Timeshift 08:55, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

Anyone think this page should be deleted? This woman's only claim to fame is running for a seat at an election (a weekly column in a small newspaper doesn't count). There are many people who have had one-off losing campaigns and don't have an article. Furthermore, the article is full of irrelevant material that just drags on. It wouldn't surprise me if most of it was written by Mia Handshin, herself. Depor23 (talk) 11:17, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I recall there was a discussion about candidates to be deleted somewhere in the last 6 months, this page was listed as one of them, a couple said keep for Handshin with no objections. She is rather noteable. For the record, it was written by me, but could use a cleanup. Timeshift (talk) 11:47, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm ambivalent about this. I'd have previously said she was certainly notable, but she's recently withdrawn her nomination for 2010; now I'm not so sure. Rebecca (talk) 12:42, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Handshin is a minor South Australian celebrity, notable for being a regular columnist in a metropolitan daily newspaper with a readership of over half a million, not for being a defeated candidate in a past federal election. She's had a public profile for over a decade and merits inclusion on that basis, though the article should definitely focus on her career as a media commentator, not as a failed politician. 61.68.163.231 (talk) 12:41, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
