Almost canceled?[edit]

Wasn't this game almost canceled due to the religious thematic elements in it? I slightly remember reading an article in a gamer's magazine some time ago that stated the game was scrapped completely. Did they modify parts of it in order to get it released? --75.2.46.60 04:05, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never heard of such a thing, have you checked the news archives of major gaming sites like Gamespot and IGN?

- I guess not, because I made to the end of the game and Bob can possess whores, policemen, kill innocents and curse.

I only played this briefly at a friends house when I was young, but yeah the violence was pretty full on even by today's standards.--77.103.237.230 (talk) 04:54, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MessiahBox.jpg[edit]

Image:MessiahBox.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Running Messiah in Windows Vista[edit]

Is this section really needed? Strikes me that Wikipedia is not intended to be an FAQ for Vista users. This is what forums are for. 161.73.40.169 (talk) 12:34, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that this section is not needed. Not only are such issues common for basically any game of a certain age, but Wikipedia is definitely not the place to find help running your games. Chris16447 (talk) 05:27, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted that section per WP:NOTHOWTO TurningWork (talk) 10:04, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Third Person Shooter?? Really?[edit]

I played Messiah for several hours when it came out and from that memory I wouldn't call this a "shooter" at all. Control of the characters (Bob or possessed NPCs) happens in the third person but the primary activity was not shooting, but puzzle solving and stealth possession of the NPCs as needed. Strategy, timing and luck played much bigger components of this game than shooting, so based on Wiki's own definition I don't think "shooter" is an accurate definition. If anything it was closer to the original Thief or maybe even Assassin's Creed in terms of game play.

I would think this would be more accurately described as a "Third person action" game, but again, memory is hazy and some one else can probably take the time to play it again. It was too buggy and resource intense for me though and gave up on it after a couple of weeks... (hahaha)
