Charles Vavasour[edit]

I may have mixed names up, but I'm sure I've seen Mervin referred to as Charles in at least one account; this might have been the historian's mistake/muddling as the name Charles Vavasour is better-known in British history (no article yet, though). Was Charles an ancestor of Mervin? Probably, as army blood runs strong over the generations, but might be worth a mention (Battle of Liscaroll is one google hit I found for him....1643?Skookum1 (talk) 17:18, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just an armchair historian, so I don't have much info. Digging up viable sources on Mervin Vavasour has been difficult enough! I can't say I've seen him referred to as Charles; I've seen him referred to as "Merwyn" in one. Charles is only worth a mention if a citeable connection can be found.
