To do[edit]

Expand plot section
Detail the volumes' titles, spans and publication dates. The table on the French page is excellent but I haven't yet worked out how to port it over
Detail editions if there are others (audiobook?)
Discuss the varied discussion of Romains' optimism. Some (Cannon) see the book as bitterly pessimistic, others (Tame) as very optimistic in the existence of "men of good will" everywhere and their ability to prevent war
