Title music

IIRC the theme was influenced by Nine Inch Nails' Closer to God. knoodelhed (talk) 10:26, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Problematic page move

The actual, on-screen title of this program is Men in Black: The Series. It was always referenced in this manner both in the opening credits, and in all promotions for the show. Any page moves to simply "Men in Black (1999 TV series)" or whatever are incorrect. Please do not move this page again. TheRealFennShysa (talk) 17:24, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Cut the plot section

In this edit I cut the plot section because it was one giant block of original research that seemed more interested in pointing out interpretive differences between the movie and the series, instead of, oh, I dunno, telling us what the series is about. Once we started getting into weird interpretive statements like the following, it was clear it was time to go: These differences are possibly addressed in the episode "The Star System Syndrome", wherein it is revealed that writers periodically learn of the MIB and make a movie about them, which is not wholly accurate: possibly hinting that the live-action movie was one of these incidents. We're not here to speculate, we're here to present facts, and this isn't even on topic information. Cut! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:17, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Fantasy Television Series Category Removed

Someone removed the American fantasy television series category from this article and claims its not a fantasy TV show when it actually is. — FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 11:01, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

In the simple categorizations we use here, no. It's not fantasy. If we were using more fine gradations as defined by John W. Campbell, Jr., we'd call it science fantasy: Fantasy that substitutes technological-seeming props and critters for magic spells, wizards' staffs, and orcs. (Star Wars and most all of Star Trek are in this category too.)
But the general reader knows nothing of such distinctions, and we write (and categorize) for the general reader; the principles of WP:COMMONNAME apply. The general reader sees space ships and ray guns and aliens from outer space (as opposed to magic wands and fantastical creatures from Another Place And Time on Earth) and thinks "science fiction", so that's what we call it.
