Tahukah saudara-saudari tentang kisah Memali.

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.120.223.74 (talk) 03:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification needed[edit]

In 1981, Hadi Awang, a senior PAS politician made claims to resist UMNO and the UMNO-led government does not practice Islamic Hudud law is a Jihad, and that those who died in the struggle are al-shahid

This doesn't meaningfully parse in standard English. Would like to reword it, but not sure what was intended. Only guess I can come up with:

In 1981, Hadi Awang, a senior PAS politician made these claims: 1. To resist against UMNO, and the UMNO-led government that does not practice Islamic Hudud law, is a Jihad. 2. Those who died in the struggle are al-shahid.

If that is the intended meaning, then this would be clearer:

In 1981 Hadi Awang, a senior PAS politician, claimed that it is a Jihad to resist against UMNO, and the UMNO-led government that does not practice Islamic Hudud law, and that those who died in the struggle are al-shahid.

With confirmation, I can make the change. Also, the source of this statement needs to be cited. --Zahzuhzaz (talk) 00:50, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

After finding several sources, assembled the info into this rewording:

In 1981, Hadi Awang, (who was then PAS state commissioner for Terengganu, and has been PAS President since 2002) claimed that UMNO perpetuated the unIslamic rule of colonialism, and therefore the struggle of PAS and its supporters against UMNO is jihad, and that those who died in the struggle are al-shahid (martyrs). --Zahzuhzaz (talk) 20:36, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
