Taxonomy: For all marine species, Project Gastropods uses the taxonomy in the online database WoRMS. When starting a new article, do not use sources of taxonomic information that predate the 2017 revision for all gastropod groups ("Revised Classification, Nomenclator and Typification of Gastropod and Monoplacophoran Families" by Philippe Bouchet & Jean-Pierre Rocroi, Bernhard Hausdorf, Andrzej Kaim, Yasunori Kano, Alexander Nützel, Pavel Parkhaev, Michael Schrödl and Ellen E. Strong in Malacologia, 2017, 61(1–2): 1–526.) (can be dowloaded at Researchgate.net), substituting the previous classification of 2005 Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). First time I've created a new page. Hope I've done it right. There should be a redirection from Melon Shell to here. There should be some external references. Raichu2 (talk) 09:20, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this page redirect to Melo amphora rather than Melo amphora redirecting to the common name. This just appears to be inconsistent with all the other Taxa based entries? I'll shift it in a few days if there's no issues raised here. Additionally I'm trying to hunt down a little more info on Melo amphora to increase the usefulness of the article. Very nice photograph, I wish I could be there to see such animals. However, it is probably Melo umbilicatus, not Melo amphora on the photo.
