Disambiguation unnecessary[edit]

User:Boleyn, is there a reason why you feel this remains necessary? Can you review the AfD for the pastor before we continue? Thargor Orlando (talk) 15:01, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Whether the pastor is notable or not is irrelevant - does she meet MOS:DABMENTION? Yes, she is a substantial part of the article Gene Scott. She is thus a valid entry on a disambiguation page. The page has three valid entries, so clearly meets guidelines. Is it potentially WP:USEFUL? Yes. Could anything be gained from its deletion? No. However, if you disagree, you could always take the page to AfD. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 15:15, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, she has three lines in the Gene Scott page, so no, she's not a substantial part. The page only has a third questionable entry because you added it to try and shoehorn the pastor back in. I'd prefer not to do the AfD route if we can work this out. Thargor Orlando (talk) 17:53, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

MOS:DABMENTION only requires a mention, which she clearly has (mentioned on much more than 3 lines, and her name is mentioned 12 times)- but we'll have to agree to disagree on whether she has a substantial part, as that is academic to this discussion. I can't see how the third entry would be considered questionable and there has been no attempt to shoehorn anything. I have nothing really to add to the inks and explanations in my first comment - if you feel it needs a discussion, I would recommend contacting the Wikiproject or AfD (it's unliekly many people will come across a discussion on a disambiguation's talk page, unfortunately, so those would be your best venues if you want further discussions. I have nothing more to add. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 18:11, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
