Johns was born in Llanwnda, near Fishguard, in 1901, later attending Fishguard County School
I've no particular reason to doubt the statement that Johns attended Fishguard County School. However, public records show that he was born not at Llanwnda but at Somerton, west of Hundleton in the parish of Monkton near Pembroke, was baptised at St John's church, Pembroke Dock, and was still living at Somerton in 1911. As Fishguard is more than 20 miles from Pembroke, presumably the family moved at some stage after Johns was 10? Will amend birth place; would be glad to hear of any other details concerning the Fishguard connection. -- Picapica (talk) 06:21, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
