List of graduates[edit]

Dejuan Summers is not a notable graduate seeing as he is yet to do anything as a McDonogh Alum. Honestly, putting this kid right next to Bolton and Pam Shriver is laughable. Whoever keeps putting this kid up, listen here. I can name literally 50 McD athletes to go Div. I. They are not notable becuase it is not that rare an accomplishment. Pam Shriver, best female tennis player to ever live. John Bolton, UN diplomat. Someone who is only a Div. Military traditions?[edit]

Well, I suppose we are all entitled to our opinions, but when it comes to a little revisionist history about the school I think that there is a limit. For example, the Article History page should read... "

"In 1971, the military traditions of the school were discontinued, a victim of the Viet Nam War. The semi-military system as it existed has been highly regarded by many alumni as the principal contributor to good character within the school's graduates of that era. The school became coeducational 1975 despite explicit provisions of John McDonogh's will." It was there, but somehow it kept getting deleted. Major Alvin J. Levy[edit]

I think that this is an unnecessary addition to this page. It does not need to be the main focus of a school's page. If it was happening now and Mr. Levy was still headmaster, it would be one thing. But I think that adding a comment about pedastery after the school handled it and dismissed Mr. Levy is an unnecessary addition and seems to be an malicious attack on the school's reputation.

Who is Major Levy? What did he do? I went to McDonogh in the late 90's and I know the name but was too young to remember what actually happened. Who keeps removing the comments about the pedophile activity of Major Levy?

This is a ruthless attitude toward the many cadets who were abused during this dark period. Also you should be signing your name.

It is a VERY necessary addition to this page. We need to stand up and acknowledge a wrong (if we have any character at all) and do our best to make it right. Somewhere I have saved the original information (not posted by myself but very understanding) and will bring it back here where it belongs. Don't get me wrong. There is much I love about McDonogh and spent much of my childhood on campus. Just 2 hours ago a live coverage of the new Penn State College President press conference was broadcast. It seems he is presenting a model of what McDonogh School could follow in handling large numbers of sexual abuse by faculty members upon students. For those who argue this took place in the past and should be swept under the carpet, Penn State is struggling with the aftermath of taking such an attitude. Just as Penn State is improving their public image, McDonogh has the opportunity to do the same. One of the points in the Five Point Program proposed by President Rooney Ericson is to encourage (not suppress) full discussion by students and alumnae. While this page is not the venue for such an open discussion, it is a place where recognition of McDonogh's history should be discussed. An open revealment of such a disappointing part of a largely successful history would go a long way in achieving closure for a large number of suppressed students and also show the world how McDonogh can ethically manage such disappointments. Levy was a child molester...so was a guy named Robert Creed who taught there...the Baltimore Ravens cheerleader who was doing a student there is conveniently not mentioned in the article as well...amazing how the powers that be always get their way..if this stuff isn`t in the article what`s the point? I don`t know if the allegations were ever in the article and taken out or were never in the first place..I do know after years of researching child abuse and my overall attitude towards the rich is the rich always get their way..ie Trump who allegedly raped a 13 year old girl..child sexual abuse historically referred to as "the unspeakable crime" is categorically denied by both the rich and the poor..there is no reason whatsoever that this information should should not be in the article and that if anyone ever puts it up again it will be removed...I cannot source any of this which is why it`s on the talk page..if I were to reference this and post it it would be removed....I was there...I know it happened.

I see it`s all been kept out of the article as well...no surprise there..Creed was getting blowjobs for grades..I assume Levy as well..I knew both those assholes and doesn`t surprise me a bit..it`s probably still happening..it`s always existed in private boy`s schools just like the catholic church
