Review[edit]

The second of the external links refers the reader to a review in The Mediaeval Review by Dennis Trout. That review opens "Maximianus (if that is indeed his name) is an allusive (as in hard to pin down) poet."; but since the word for "hard to pin down" is "elusive" rather than "allusive", this opening does not inspire confidence.
