Question[edit]

"Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis" page says "From the mid 1970s until her death, her companion was Maurice Tempelsman, a Belgian-born industrialist and diamond merchant who was long separated from his wife."

This page says "While still married to Lilly, he became the companion to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, former First Lady of the United States."

kind of contradicting... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.64.224.128 (talk) 16:37, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly what is meant by "companion"? Was he just her walking-around buddy? You know, sort of like someone you hire to walk a dog? Any clarification forthcoming here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.111.117.175 (talk) 01:47, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not contradicting. You can be long-separated but still married. Valetude (talk) 23:48, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It says that Mrs. Tempelsman never gave him a divorce because of her orthodox faith. That cannot be true. A get is a Jewish divorce. And as far as orthodox people are concerned that severs the marriage. For orthodox Jews the only valid marriage is the religious one, not the secular one. So if she divorced him in a Jewish court their marriage was over. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sfnychef (talkcontribs) 12:31, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Section on looted Acroliths[edit]

I have inserted a referenced section on the Morgantina statues. One article indicates that authorities did not take a position on whether Tempelsman was aware of the provenance of the items when he purchased them, but he would have been aware of the questionable nature after 1988 until 2005 when he donated them. It is unclear if such donations would reap tax benefits.Rococo1700 (talk) 01:51, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
