Stripping Falder of his degrees[edit]

Cambridge University should consider very carefully before they do this. In general it is better if prisoners have qualifications and can use their qualifications to get honest work when they are released. The Open University and other institutions run courses in prisons to help prisoners get qualifications. Stripping Falder of his qualifications would set a precedent, later other prisoners without wealthy families could be stripped of their qualifications. These other prisoners will find it harder to get work and will be tempted back to crime.31.52.118.78 (talk) 18:09, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Noted; Wikipedia does not advocate either as it remains neutral. The section is in there because Cambridge even considering stripping Falder of his degree is entirely without precedent (I think). Whilst rehabilitation over recidivism is preferred to enable prisoners to change their ways, the stark degradation of Falder's crimes has shocked many people and prompted this thinking from the university. Jewish[edit]

Shouldn't the article mention he is Jewish? (165.120.13.224 (talk) 04:49, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

165.120.13.224 If is reliably sourced and serves a purpose in the article, then yes; but I cannot see the relevance. The joy of all things (talk) 06:05, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have read a great deal about Matthew Falder and haven't read any suggestion that he is Jewish. His images suggest a typical blond haired, blue eyed type. I suspect the allegation that he is Jewish is antisemitism. 86.128.1.235 (talk) 10:08, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
