Should Chinto simply be referred to as Annan in the infobox?[edit]

It seems improper to include multiple names for one individual in the infobox. The article Chinto is about Annan. There is no article on wikipedia entitled Annan. Opinions? User5802 (talk) 05:31, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When I read the reference, it seems that 'Chinto' is the name of a kata and 'Annan' is the name of a person. It would seem that only 'Annan' should be in the info box as teacher. I will check some books this weekend for additional references. jmcw (talk) 10:37, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- I've found the same thing, however as with most of the names from this far back it is hard to tell what the TRUE name is. I propose leaving the text "Annan", removing the text "Chinto", and making the text "Annan" redirect to the "Chinto" article. Phew! Confusing! User5802 (talk) 02:19, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- - According to a number of historical references that I have read on the subject, the Kata Chinto was named after a Chinese trader (of the same name) who demonstrated the moves contained in that form during a visit to Okinawa. I don't know if this is oral history alone, or not, but there does seem to be consistency. Burns MacDonald 12:35, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
