Untitled section[edit]

I removed the "she worked on something TV" and that she is Jewish because there is no reference. Everything else can be confirmed by IMDB. Tamer (talk) 03:50, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, I just read this entire entry, and I have to say it sounds like shameless promotion! If the actress didn't write it herself, it was done by either her agent, publicity firm or an obsessed fan. Several "it is reported ..." bragging, that's not cited or has questionable valid sources. New photo and recent updates on her career[edit]

I was looking to add a picture that I had taken of her on the red carpet premiere of "Closer"

Also, I found a recently updated biography and newer quotes on her official site, as well as her IMDB site.

Unless anyone can find sources outside IMDb then I am going to add it to a weekend Afd list to test the ground on how notable the artist is. I'd like some newspaper citations at least. All Masiela seems to have are small parts and any editor can quickly add those within days to ImDb. Apart from notability (I haven't checked), I don't like ownership issues about articles.   • There are now adequate references to meet the minimum standard for inclusion. The Parade magazine article is strong, the otherws are substantially just confirmation. Also, the 'fan site' is not a fan site. It's her official site. I am in contact with Masiela (by phone and email) as her Producer and I can grant permission or clarification to things as necessary with regards to the site. I'll refrain from making too many edits to the main page since it may conflict with Wikipedia guidelines. Any of her posts in her Message Center are her. First person things throughout the site may or may not actually have been written by her, although Mas is very protective of her 'voice' and has a higher level of input into her site than our other clients. Actually, according to the BoLP, there are stipulations where we can edit (Dealing with edits by the subject of the article), but aside from the site link or typos, I'd rather just do things in the discussions to point to the right source to minimize the disruption. It also allows me to prevent my boss from requiring improper usage of Wikipedia since he thinks it is a marketing tool. Kevin, That's not necessarily true. I should have something tomorrow regarding that. Aaron may be on one side of the equation, while I am on another. I just checked WP:COI and as long as I personally do not cite her website, cite myself as an 'agent' of her, or promote her or her site, it shouldn't be a problem. Nor should it be a problem for Aaron (if everything is true) as long as WP guidelines are followed. For example, I could see him removing the height reference if it is unverifiable, but he couldn't use his own knowledge of her height to cite. That's why I exercise great caution with anything and use talk. I've also disclosed myself on Mas' and our other client sites. WP:BLPand WP:SELFPUB are clear that I can represent her, under certain conditions. I'll still make sure that I work with Talk first. Is that OK?MikeSims (talk) 00:34, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, by the way, and this is as good of a place to ask as any... How do I, or Aaron for that matter, go about proving we work with Masiela (or any of my other clients)? It's not really relevant, since we can't use information provided by the subject (company, person, employees). All that you can do is direct us toward verifiable and independent published materials. That's my plan. No intentions for trivia and opinions in the article. Any thing wrong or libelous, I can remove per guidelines. I spoke with Masiela and Aaron and everything is on the up and up. I'll work with them to make sure that anything that happens in the future is according to standards. Literary career[edit]

Sources for recent content reverted[edit]

I am moving this listing of sources from my talk page. Major expansion of the article was undertaken and reverted because of problems with the sourcing. These are the sources then offered for the content. I'm placing it here for comment by other editors regarding its acceptability and reliability under Wikiepedia policy.

Below are links that support every tweek. Can you then include these refs in my updated page instead of the sources I used before? All of these are respectable national or local magazines, and they all in detail talk about the facts I found on other sites as well.

Some of those are book. My google alerts don't always show news about her every day but when I did a google search and clicked on all news it revealed everything. It's a shame you guys don't take the time to actually look at some of the facts even in Parade. There are more facts in that article than there are in your whole "article" on her. Instead of dismissing this girl's work as if it doesn't matter, you could show a little consideration. And if you read her BIOGRAPHIES you would see her stories. if you read her INTERVIEWS they came from her own words. If you read the ARTICLES you would see that it was PHYSICALLY PUBLISHED in a BOOK, and they just happened to post the interview there too. there are tidbits to include but why would you care to work on it, right? It's easier to narrow it down to two paragraphs and call it a day.

Look, I explained it to you, Greengiant46. We have a mandate under the policy for biographies of living persons that all content must be supported with citations from reliable sources. We have a further mandate about this particular article because sources and content has been challenged in the past. I gave you the link to WP:RS so that you could see what sources are acceptable and what are not. These aren't from suggestions, these concerns are from policy that is not bendable. Three editors have given you the same opinion - the only sources you've listed above that are acceptable are the Parade, and the Hollywood Reporter would be acceptable if it were not a pay site. The rest are not acceptable and what is going to happen is that you will end up being blocked if you persist on returning this. I read each and every one of your sources, it doesn't matter. The majority of your content is referenced to a wordpress blog, those are never, never, never acceptable. The collegebound website isn't considered a reliable source. The Parade article does not support a claim of being the youngest author in the world to publish anything, nor does collegebound say who named her that or who named her one of the Top 10 talented poets and isn't a reliable source either. We can't include content that amounts to puffery and over-promotion. I'm very hesitant to add anything over-promoting what the Parade article says is a self-published book. ILW is self-published in a blog format and myspace and hollywoodsuccess are also self-published sources. The Illuminary website and IMDB filmography listings can support any work. Yes, to answer your question on my talk page, the content must come from sources such as the New York Times, legitimately published sources such as magazines, actual books themselves, not some commentary on a book on a personal website. Webpages published by anonymous and random people are not acceptable. You're not gaining any ground ranting about this and blankly reverting. You don't even seem to realize that your last revert removed new, permissible sources, returned a non-existent category, removed the image again, and in doing so, it's obvious you aren't looking at what you're doing. It's time to stop. Find acceptable sources for what you're trying to put in or quit. It will go to the adminstrator's noticeboard for action if you revert this again. Quotation section and maintenance tags[edit]

The reason I removed your tags is because I understand your concerns and was attempting to find each and every article I had read in the past with regards to the "advertising" claims. If you had taken the time to research, as I had, as opposed to merely abuse my work, then you may had found what I was "peacocking" about Masiela Lusha. Her being an award winning poet and youngest author was not suggested at Barnes and Noble but when she was on the cover of parade magazine in which I read a few years back. Again, I do not intend to disrespect your views as I want wikipedia to be just as reliable as the next guy, but please do not abuse my work because I took a lot of time to make this right when before HALF of what was left on the site was not even true in which case neither you nor anyone else attempted to fix it. I took it into my own hands, and lo and behold, I am berated for it.

And lastly, I will repeat this again: do not abuse my work. Take into consideration the time I took out of my working schedule in adding more details to a site that needed it. If you have some concerns, fix them yourself as opposed to belittling my work as if I have all the time in the world.

Allright, why did I just delete the "quotation" section again? The answer is simple: wikipedia does not allow such sections at all. The relevant policy is WP:QUOTEFARM, which says: "Do not insert any number of quotations in a stand-alone quote section.", so don't do it.

Second question: Why did I put back the maintenance tags? Again the answer is simple: The article has problems which needs to be fixed. The article currently has a lack of independent reliable sources, it is mainly sourced by her official website. The PEACOCK tag was applied because the article contains claims which are not backed up by the sources, for example: "As an award winning poet, Lusha is also recognized as being the youngest author in the world to publish a book in two languages.", which is linked to a barnes and nobles page which just says she is 12 years old when she wrote the book, not that she won an award or was the youngest ever (the anonymous reviews on the site do not count as a "reliable source"). Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and our articles have to have a neutral point of view. Please understand wikipedia is not your personal advertising space. I swapped the peacock tag for a WP:NPOV tag as it seems more appropriate.

And lastly a remark with regards to the pictures you uploaded and said to have created yourself, like File:Masiela Lusha Pantages.jpg. I have found the source for that one here and it will be deleted as a copyright violation again. Please stop adding those images, they will all be deleted in a few days.
