PhD authenticity and Cambridge alma mater claim

There is a mention of Cambridge in alma mater. Please provide sources for the claim and she has indeed done PhD from University of Cambridge. Otherwise, please remove. --yh (talk) 12:28, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

She has failed to prove her academic credentials and PhD in Lahore High Court [1] Since she could not prove her PhD, it should be removed wikipedia. As the only source quoted in the court of law was internet, this definitely means someone has been toying with this wikipedia article as well to add unauthentic information. Removing PhD claim and all related interview links.

LHC on Tuesday also expressed wonder over the combination of degrees – M.A. (English Literature) and Ph.D. in Political Science – earned by Maryam Nawaz. During the hearing, deputy attorney general Amir Rehman presented academic credentials of Maryam, but withdrew them after failing to answer a query whether the Ph.D. degree was actual or honorary. He said the details presented before the court were collected from the internet.

It seems to me that the question has been answered above- but to state again, the article must be written from a neutral point of view, and adding in excessive detail about alleged wrongdoing that only peripherally involves her unbalances a neutral point of view. in the above introduction of the person named above it is said that the said person is a "Pakistani politician" which in fact is incorrect. the person in question is simply the daughter of the Prime Minister.

@Saqib: Nope. It is not listed in 'many' biographies of living persons. Specifically, it is mentioned in only 9 stub articles, all of which are of dubious notability. Even if it had been mentioned in more, it would still qualify for deletion for being an astonishingly low quality (how many times a source is mentioned is irrelevant to the point I was making, which is that your use of it appears promotional, and the original article list is neither notable nor an 'honour'). Honestly, though, I don't care about Maryam Nawaz. I could change it back (and improve this article), but given your edit history, you will change it back again most likely. You are one of the many reasons why Wikipedia is declining in quality. Clearly you're here to promote this 'political figure' to English language readers. Maybe she's paying you, maybe she isn't – either way you have no dignity or respect for the norms of Wikipedia. I hope you are proud of yourself.

Her legal name Mariam Safdar should be mentioned in the first sentence in addition to mentioning the name she is most commonly known by. This is in accordance with Wikipedia's guidelines on official names where relevant examples such as Bill Clinton and J. K. Samee, I don't really understand what you're trying to say because of your curt responses. I've shown you that Wikipedia's guidelines suggest that the official name should be mentioned in the first line. I've proven to you through multiple, reliable sources that her official name is Mariam Safdar. If you are trying to suggest there can be multiple 'official' names, you are wrong. We do not have any reliable source that mentions her official name as Maryam Nawaz. Newspaper articles go by 'popular' names as opposed to official names. If you really have a reliable source for Maryam Nawaz, please share it as opposed to just alluding towards them. Please make your case clear if you truly want to achieve the 'consensus' you mentioned when you undid my changes. Vikhtrrez
