Later life[edit]

I did check a number of sources but saw nothing. I would guess he sought anonymity and lived the rest of his life in obsurity. Piercetp 23:46, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cause for treason arrest?[edit]

It is quite simple. His original arrest in 1945 was on his desertion from the US military. Joining an enemy force in war with the United States (Waffen-SS) and actively fought with them against the US is treason. --JNZ (talk) 06:40, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for defection?[edit]

Did Monti ever reveal why he defected, either during his service in the Waffen SS, at his treason trial, or subsequently? Needs more basic facts added to the story[edit]

Where was the trial?

Why wasn't he tried for treason when he was first arrested when he surrendered in 1945? Was it because the Army didn't know who he was? The article doesn't make this clear to me. SilverWoodchuck47 (talk) 23:37, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
