Assessment[edit]

I have assessed this as a Stub, as it only provides the basic information on the topic, and of low importance, as it is a highly specialized topic within Canada. Cheers, CP 05:43, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as stub, and the rating on other projects was brought up to Stub class. BetacommandBot 17:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Link to Markland, Newfoundland[edit]

I don't know how, but shouldn't this link in some way to Markland, Newfoundland and Labrador? I'm not that knowledgeable about Canadian geography, so I ask. Thief12 (talk) 11:42, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. — LlywelynII 20:01, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Date[edit]

Assuming Snorre & al. didn't actually use the Dionysian Era, the article could use a little more specificity on the actual year given by the saga. "Year X of the reign of Y" or what-have-you. — LlywelynII 19:59, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removed map[edit]

Removed Image:Vinland karta, Nordisk familjebok.png, a "Hypothetical map of Vinland, Markland and Helluland" from the "Nordisk familjebok. 1921" as it is not a hypothetical anything but simply blatantly false, given that scholarship on Helluland and Markland have moved on and we've actually found the location of Vinland.

If the article expands enough that we're discussing previous erroneous theories in detail, it could be brought back as an illustration of them, but it shouldn't be used as a potentially correct anything. — LlywelynII 16:05, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
