The result of the proposal was move, to Market Theatre (Johannesburg)Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:10, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is now more than one Market Theatre on Wikipedia - it would be helpful for all if a search for 'Market Theatre' revealed all rather than just being directed to this one. Superstevegs (talk) 16:44, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Market theater[edit]

the picture used on this article is of the old market theater which was used as a market and it's not open to the public since it's been turned to a museum ,, i think it would be nice to have the picture of the current one which is operational as a stage play, i uploaded this picture but it was deleted on the reason of freedom of panorama, i can upload it again if someone can help me put it on the right category Bobbyshabangu (talk) 12:04, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Name change[edit]

The name is still the Market Theatre: Their website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.111.30.116 (talk) 14:21, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Name wrong[edit]

Only the main theatre was renamed. The complex is still called the Market Theatre. (From their website: The Market Theatre renames its newly renovated and iconic Main Theatre to The John Kani Theatre.) Winstonza (talk) 14:23, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 19 March 2015[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Moved. No opposition after listing, and the proposed name is also the long term stable title, so gets the benefit of any doubt when assessing consensus. (non-admin closure)  — Amakuru (talk) 16:29, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

John Kani TheatreMarket Theatre (Johannesburg) – The page Market Theatre (Johannesburg) was moved to John Kani Theatre. However, only one theatre in the complex, the Main Theatre, was renamed and not the whole complex. From their website: Market Theatre. Winstonza (talk) 17:52, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
