Comment[edit]

Can we have a Bibliography so that I can find the sources referenced, please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.183.128.20 (talk) 23:05, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lede section[edit]

I have restored the deleted templates about the lede section that had been removed. The lede section, as it currently stands, is two sentences laying out the scope of the article. This is a part of the Wikipedia:Lead section guideline but the way is is done does not do the article any justice. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 02:55, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have expanded the lede, and it now serves as both an introduction to the article and as a summary of the important topics discussed therein. The other cleanup template you added pertained to the entire article and not specifically to the lede, when there was nothing really wrong with the article to begin with. As I already indicated, it was already cleaned up some time back. At any rate, I've tidied it up some more as well. Middayexpress (talk) 05:11, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Citing Sources[edit]

Could whoever put in the sources please use the official Wikipedia format where journals are concerned (eg. Tanzania notes and records: the journal of the Tanzania Society pg 76)? A citation like #22 is impossible to check out because the journal volume / number is not indicated. A look at this particular citation (which claims the Portuguese surrendered to a joint Somali-Omani force in Mombasa in 1660) online shows that virtually all references draw their claim from this article.
