Untitled[edit]

I changed it back to an updated version that simply acknowledges the facts, as they occurred, over the last year. For instance, the version you want to switch it back to includes several out of date pieces of information -- including even the first line that states that he is a candidate in an ongoing election. The updated information should not be discarded. Please add your contributions to that information, do not simply discard information that is current.

NPOV problems[edit]

Not only does this article read like it was written by a teenager, but it also has major problems with neutrality, with sentences such as this one: "The lawsuit was brought by Holtzman's primary opponent Bob Beauprez who hid cowardly behind the pro C & D RINOs like Governor Owens, Bruce Benson, and Pete Coors." I really don't know where to begin without scrapping the entire article, and I don't know enough about Holtzman to do that.

Nue. POV issues edited[edit]

I took the opinionated junk out (hey, I vote DEM too, and that was just plain stupid. Grow up, wouldja?) but left the content pretty much intact, except for a few minor spelling edits and one or two replacements.

I think this is a somewhat more Nuetral POV. My personal opinions probably run in line with the first editor above, but that was a ludicrous entry. - jglide 01:31, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand how that entry was ludicrous when it displayed the facts. I know Marc Holtzman personally, and I worked on his gubernatorial campaign tirelessly. It is a true fact that Bob Beauprez refused to appear in any advertisement against Referenda C and D. Pete Coors and Bill Owens did too. That's not a bias entry, its a factual one. Now I didn't put that in but it was accurate. If you don't know to much about Marc than ask me, because what used to be on the page was the truth. I understand that there were some emotional words used in the entry, but it was factual. Bob Beauprez has hid in the weeds more than once. He refused to debate Marc after being asked several times to, so the delagates at the State Assembly were deprived of the right to see the two face the issues that were so important to the delegation. Although he couldn't debate to to his "lack of time", he showed up to all the court cases following the assembly in fear of having to actually give Coloradoans a choice about who they wanted their next governor to be. If you don't know about Marc Holtzman, then don't edit the page. (Precinctwalker, 10:33, October 10, 2006)

What's ludicrous is using emotional words and points of view in what is supposed to be an unbiased entry of fact. If you don't understand what that means, you shouldn't be making entries or changes. "Hiding in the weeds" and doing things in a "cowardly" way are subjective terms...unless you have photo's of Beauprez literally hiding behind weeds in some field to avoid a debate. Statements like "refuse to acknowledge requests to debate" or "refusing to debate" or "declining invitations..." are neutral. I hope Bob gets trounced in a few weeks, but the bottom line is this is not a political platform. I'll edit the page as I see fit, by community standards. Neutrality is the point here, and objective statements, not subjective entries of emotional complaining. --- jglide 20:58, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Stubifying[edit]

Marc Holtzman appears to meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability, but most of this article is unsourced, promotional, or copied from other sources. I intend to trim it down to the bare essentials - namely, what can be verified and makes him notable. I was tempted to nominate it for AfD - in Wikipedia parlance, to blow it up and start over - but I think reducing it to a stub and possibly rebuilding it from there is a better option. Any future additions will have to be neutral, sourced, encyclopedic, and not copied from any other source. --MelanieN (talk) 23:12, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
